Brown Bag Lunch Lecture Series

Bring a lunch and enjoy a variety of history lectures and presentations from a range of speakers. Learn about local and regional history with resident experts. The lecture series is held the second Tuesday of each month (except December) from 12pm-1pm at the Railroad Museum. You can also join by zoom. Email [email protected] for the zoom link.

Lapidary and Silver Jewelry Open Lab

The lapidary and silver jewelry open lab at the Munson Senior Center provides seniors with the opportunity to learn about and work with lapidary and silver jewelry-making techniques. Certification is required to participate in the open lab, and seniors can use the space to learn new techniques, work on projects, and socialize with other seniors who share an interest in these crafts. The open lab is a great way for seniors to stay active and engaged in their community.

Crocheting

Senior Programs crocheting gatherings are a fun and social way to learn a new skill. Every Tuesday and Thursday, participants gather in the Eastside Community Center Classroom to learn from each other and make new friends. This event is open to all levels of crocheters, so don't be afraid to come join us even if you're a beginner!

Quilting

The quilting gathering at the Munson Senior Center is a great opportunity for seniors to get together and socialize while working on a fun project. Participants can learn from each other, share tips and tricks, and enjoy some friendly competition. The finished quilts make beautiful display pieces and can be enjoyed for years to come.

Grandparents Raising Grandchildren

The Grandparents Raising Grandchildren program at the Munson Senior Center provides support and resources for seniors who are raising their grandchildren. The program offers educational workshops, social activities, and support groups, as well as access to resources and information on topics such as child care, financial assistance, and legal advice. The program also provides a network of peers who can offer advice and support.

Karaoke Music Group

The karaoke music group at the Munson Senior Center provides an opportunity for seniors to come together and enjoy singing their favorite songs. This group is a great way for seniors to socialize and have fun.

Game Day

The Munson Senior Center offers a Game Day activity for seniors. On this day, seniors can come and play games such as bingo, cards, and puzzles. This is a great opportunity for seniors to socialize and have some fun.

Horseshoes

The horseshoes activity at the Munson Senior Center is a great way for seniors to stay active and have fun. The horseshoes are set up in a court-like setting, and participants take turns trying to toss the horseshoes onto the metal stake. This activity is a great way to improve hand-eye coordination and dexterity.

Mosaics Open Studio

The mosaic making open studio time at the Munson Senior Center is a great opportunity for seniors to get creative and have some fun. Participants can choose from a variety of tiles, tesserae, and other materials to create their own unique mosaic masterpiece. This is a great way to spend some time with friends and make new ones, too!

Tai Chi Chuan

The Tai Chi Chuan form comprises a series of slow movements flowing from one to the next. Tai Chi was created to improve health, meditation, and self-defense. The movements are done slowly and calmly. The emphasis is on relaxation, correct posture, and the efficient use of muscles. Studies have shown that Tai Chi can help lower blood pressure and improve balance, coordination, and flexibility. It teaches stress management and basic self-defense, and conflict management skills. The class will be learning Professor Cheng Man-Ching’s 37-posture Tai Chi Chuan form. The instructor, Steven Haydu, has over thirty years of experience practicing and teaching Tai Chi Chuan.

Children's Storytime

This week join us for a storytime where we can read, sing and build early literacy skills together! Recommended for Children age 2 and up with their caregivers.

Holiday Ornaments

Join us to make holiday ornaments for your home. Angel and snowflake ornaments will be made from pasta and decoration is up to you. Acrylic paint, spray paint and assorted glitter will be available.
