Facilities

Fire Station 6 was build in 1997. Station 6 is the home of Engine 6, Squad 6 and Rescue 6. They respond to emergencies in one of Las Cruces' fastest growing areas. The station protects the neighborhoods of Sonoma Ranch, High Range, and Las Colinas. The district is home to several and assisted living centers.

Technical Rescue Team

This station houses the department's Technical Rescue Team (TRT). Team members are certified at the Technician level in the areas of:

• Building Collapse
• Confined Space Rescue
• Rope Rescue
• Trench Rescue
• Water Rescue

A TRT response usually requires the deployment of Rescue-6 which is a 4-wheel drive Dodge truck with a utility bed and equipped to pull a tandem axle trailer that hauls most of our hardware.
