A Pre-Construction Public Awareness Meeting for the University Avenue Water Line and Mill Overlay Improvements Project will be at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2023, in the Senate Chambers, Room 302, at Corbett Center Student Union, at New Mexico State University.
The meeting is scheduled to inform the public about the scope and construction phasing of the project. The capital improvement project will be on University Avenue between Turrentine Drive and Triviz Drive. The road improvements will be made in City Council District 2.
The project is tentatively scheduled to begin March 6, 2023, with work continuing to Sept. 15, 2023. Work will include the replacement of a water line and resurfacing University Avenue, from Turrentine Drive to Triviz Drive. The water line replacement and road resurfacing are essential in extending the roadway life of University Avenue and preventing the need for emergency water line repairs.
Residents, businesses, and consumers are encouraged to attend the meeting to get an understanding of the project.
