The City Art Board and Las Cruces Public Art Program are looking for artists to compete in the debut of “Chalk the Plaza” sidewalk art competition.
The event will be from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday, April 29, 2023, as part of the ¡MIRA! Las Cruces spring festival. Deadline to submit artist applications is Saturday, April 1.
“Chalk the Plaza” will take place on east Organ Avenue, between Plaza de Las Cruces and Bank of the West. Ten artist blocks are available.
Prizes will be awarded for People’s Choice winner and Best of Show winner. Artists must complete an application form and submit a concept sketch to be considered. Artists will be chosen from the submitted applications by the City Art Board selection committee.
