Celebrate the winter holidays with activities at the Las Cruces Museums. Learn about Kwanzaa and make a first fruits Kwanzaa candle with the Branigan Cultural Center. Catapult into Christmas with the Museum of Nature & Science. Create holiday crafts with the Museum of Art and Railroad Museum. Visit all four museums and receive a special holiday gift! The Branigan Cultural Center is celebrating Kwanzaa at the Winter Festival this year. Kwanzaa is an African-American winter celebration. The name comes from the Swahili phrase "matunda ya kwanzaa" which means "first Fruits."
