Payment Arrangements

Customer Service encourages you to visit or call immediately to make payment arrangements if you are experiencing a financial hardship. Services that are shut off for non-payment require full payment of the past due balance plus additional fees for re-connection of those services.

Helpful Payment Options & Assistance

There are several options available, depending on your situation:

Payment Plan Agreement

This is useful when you might owe several months of utility bills but need a plan to get back on schedule.

Preferred Payment Date

This is a monthly extension for disabled and/or elderly customers, so the Las Cruces Utility bill due date coincides with the arrival of Social Security or Disability checks.

Casa De Peregrinos (CDP)

CDP administers funds provided by the City of Las Cruces for all Utility customers who might be in a financial hardship. This assistance begins with a visit with the Accounts Receivable Representative who will provide a referral form. The customer takes the referral form to CDP, and brings back a completed voucher from CDP to an Accounts Receivable Representative.

Promise To Pay

When you know that money is coming in, but you need some extra time - you can get a two-week extension on your billing due date.

Low Income Heating Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)

This is a federal program coordinated by the State of New Mexico to assist citizens with heating resources. Get More Information From The New Mexico Human Services Department Website
