Youth Scholarship Program
The Youth Scholarship Program is for youth desiring to participate in a fee based, individually registered Parks and Recreation activity operated by the City of Las Cruces. Participants must be 17 years of age or younger, and the household must meet financial and residency eligibility requirements of the youth scholarship program.
Interested applicants must submit their application at the Parks and Recreation Administrative Office at 1501 E. Hadley Avenue.
Scholarships are available to families with certain economic restrictions who are eligible to receive financial assistance through the department’s Youth Scholarship Fund. The intent of the scholarship fund is to offer assistance to youth wanting to participate in recreational opportunities, who may not otherwise have the means. Scholarship assistance is limited to existing funds on a first-come, first-served basis and is available only to residents of Las Cruces.
The Youth Scholarship Fund can be used to subsidize the participant/activity fee on any one recreation program for one season/session including, but not limited to:
- The After School Program
- Summer recreation
- Swim lessons
- Youth sports
