Youth
Youth Services Section will provide supervised programming that young people regularly attend when school is not in session. This can include before- and after- school programs at City facilities or on a school campus such as academic programs, specialty programs, and multipurpose programs that provide an array of physical, social and recreational activities.
The Juvenile Citation Program is an award-winning best practices program that provides youth needs assessments and a diversion educational program available for community families.

Activity Cards
The City of Las Cruces Parks and Recreation Department will now issue individual activity identification cards for all youth who participate in Parks & Recreation programs. Learn how to obtain a card for your child.

After School Program
Designed to provide an affordable, quality After School program for children during the regular school year. The program helps children develop their academic, physical, and social skills in a safe and caring environment.

Out of School Time Programs
Out of School Time (OST) programs provide quality services to school-aged youth through formal and structured opportunities. OST program goals and content can vary considerably, but most programs seek to engage youth and provide learning, enrichment, and leadership opportunities to support youth academic success and overall development.

Safe Haven - Weed & Seed
The A. Fielder Memorial Safe Haven was designed to provide young people and community residents with a secure neighborhood facility where children can gather daily in a safe environment to engage in educational activities. This facility provides afterschool and summer programming with a unique focus of maintaining the cultural traditions of the community it serves.

Youth Scholarship Program
There are scholarships available for youth 17 and under to participate in Las Cruces Parks and Recreation programs.

Sports & Physical Activities
Las Cruces Parks and Recreation offers a wide selection of sports and other physical activities for youth, including athletics leagues, gymnastics, hiking, and swimming.

Summer Recreation Program
Activities will include arts and crafts, games, sports, field trips, and special activities. Participants must currently be attending or have completed grades Kindergarten – 5 of the current school year (2019/20).

Teen Connection
Teen Connection is a Free program and serves youth who will be entering grades 6 - 12. A 5 star Opportunity and Enrichment program for Las Cruces Teens.
